Marriage Yoga
We know, Marriage is a sacred occasion. In Tamil there is a saying ‘Kalyanam enbathu aayiram kaalathu payir’ meaning Marriage
is like a 1000 year crop, once planted it bears fruit for 1000 years. This tells the necessity and importance of why great care
must be taken before the wedlock of a Boy and a Girl.
Marriage Yoga plays a major role in Early, Timely, Late or Love marriage. Marriage Yoga is said to be formed when planetary conditions are
favorable and friendly to Ascendant Lord.
Those with good Marriage Yoga get married at right time. But, when the planetary conditions are unfavorable and additionaly if there are any
Marriage Dosha (Blemishes) in the horoscope,
then the person may marry late or may have no chance of marriage..

Planetary conditions which influence favorably or affect Marriage Yoga are :
1. The Planetary period : The Planetary Period
plays a major role in Marriage. Marriage takes place during Bhukthi period of 3rd, 7th or 11th house Lord from ascendant,
if Dasha Lord is friend of Ascendant Lord. In my personal experience, I have noticed that marriage takes place during
Bhukthi period of 2nd or 4th house Lord.
If the ruling Dasha Lord and the Ascendant Lord are friends, then the Dasha is called Yoga Dasha or Lucky Period. If they are rival then
it is called Avayoga Dasha or Unlucky Period.
A person with Yoga Dasha will get married at the right time, where as a person stuck in Avayoga Dasa periods will not get married at all.

For instance, let us consider a person with Cancer Ascendant. Saturn and Mercury are rival to Ascendant Lord Moon. Hence, Saturn and Mercury
Dasha are Avayoga Dasha for this native.
Let us say the Saturn Dasha starts at the age of 23, then for the next 36 years (Saturn Dasha 19 years, followed by Mercury Dasha 17 years)
the native will get stuck in Avayoga Dasha.
With the Avayoga Dasha ruling continuously for 36 years, the native's marriage will get delayed or the native may not get married at all.
2. Dignity of Planets : Jupiter, Venus and 7th house Lord are mainly responsible for Marriage. The disposition of these
Planets should be good. The marriage may get delayed if these planets are afflicted.
3. Strength of Houses : 2nd, 4th, 5th, 7th and 12th houses
are associated with Marriage. 12th house stands for sexual pleasure, 7th house stands for spouse, 5th house for progeny, 2nd house for family
and 4th house for peace at home. If any of these houses are afflicted, marriage will get delayed until the condition of the house improves.
4. Jupiter Aspect : When the aspect of Transit Jupiter falls on Birth Sign
or 7th house to Birth Sign, then it is called "Viyazha Nokkam" or simply Jupiter Aspect. For Girl, it includes 8th house as well.
Onset of Jupiter Aspect is considered as auspicious time in arranged marriage. Hence, most of the Parents wait for the Jupiter Aspect
before start searching alliance for their wards.
Consider the Transit Jupiter is transiting through Aries. Then, it aspects fall on Leo, Libra and Sagittarius as shown in the picture below.

The Jupiter Aspect for Marriage for Boys will set for those whose Birth Sign is Aries, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Sagittarius or Aquarius Signs.
For Girls - In addition to the above the Jupiter aspect will set for Taurus, Capricorn and Pisces Signs (all 8th house).
5. Marriage Blemish : A person with clean horoscope,
meaning free of any Marriage Dosha (Blemish), is likely to get married on
time provided other conditions are in favor. However, if there are Marriage Blemishes such as Kalathra Dosha, Manglik Dosha, Putra Dosha
then not only the marriage gets delayed but also leads to Separation, Divorce or Unhappiness in Marital life.
6. Upaya Lagnam : If the Ascendant of a person is either Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius or Pisces (Upaya Lagnam), then marriage
normally gets delayed. For all these Ascendants, the 7th house Lord, one of the important house Lords influencing Marriage, is also
Badhakathipathi cum Marakathipathi and also afflicted by Blemish of
Quadrant lordship (Kendrathipathi Dosha).
Thus, the 7th house Lord for Upaya Lagnam is functionally Malefic. Moreover, the Ascendant Lord and 7th house Lord (Jupiter x Mercury)
belong to two different groups. So, naturally the 7th house Lord delays the marriage. And, if the 7th house Lord of these Upaya Lagnam gets
posited in 2nd, 4th, 5th, 7th or 12th house, then not only the marriage gets delayed but affects the married life as well.
